The BMW M8 Competition technology donor model was developed in parallel with the M8 GTE, so it initially has all the qualities for uncompromising performance. Therefore, choosing the M8 Competition as the basis for the M8 MotoGP Safety Car is a logical step.

The M8 MotoGP Safety Car engine is the most powerful engine ever developed by BMW M GmbH. It develops 625 HP and is a tandem with the eight-speed m Steptronic and Drivelogic transmission, with the engine's torque being transmitted to the four wheels via the m xDrive all-wheel drive system. One of the features of the BMW M8 MotoGP Safety Car is a new brake system designed specifically for the circuit and allows you to set two different functions.
The BMW M8 Competition was tested at the Miramas circuit in the South of France, at The Arjeplog winter circuit (Sweden) and the famous Nordschleife Nürburgring, tracking the perfect interaction between the car's powertrain, transmission and aerodynamics. As a result of the tests, it was possible to achieve an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.2 seconds. To achieve this, numerous BMW M Performance Parts components were used, many of which are also available as modified for the production model.
